Not always, if you put the small dog in your fenced backyard with a friend, it'll just end up playing with the other dog the whole time you have sex. Oh, and you should train it so it can stay in the house without messing up everything. You also shouldn't buy a dog just because you think that it's cute or that it'll make you look sexy. You should know how to meet all the requierments, you have to do the following....every day:
1) Feed him. Once to three times a day, depending on the breed.
2) Be sure he has water available all the time.
3) Take him for a walk (a mile) at least once a day.
4) Let him out at least every 4 hours to relieve himself.
5) Play with him at least a couple times a day (30 minutes).
Weekly:
1) Groom him. Get out knots in his hair. Comb him out.
2) Clip nails if too long.
3) Clean his ears with an ear cleaner and cotton ball.
Can you do that? From the time you get him, for the rest of his life? That's what it takes. Anything less is not fair to the dog.

I would suggest that you read up on whatever breed type you decide to get. Some dogs have issues with sharing their master with others...and if all else fails...get a dog crate and place some favorite little play toys in it to keep your dog happy....while there is "you two time". No body(well not most people) like to be in the middle of having sex to have some dogs cold nose trying to sniff someones butt. That would defiantly take some of the pleasure out of it.....
Or having to constantly push the dog away out of your face's...would be quite annoying and could possibly ruin the mood.

No it doesn't! I've answered your other question regarding getting a puppy, and I share an apartment w/my boyfriend as well. The puppy doesn't effect our sex life at all. Just make sure you have enough time to devote to the puppy and eachother, as they are time consuming!

I have 3 dogs and an active sex life....you should not experience "coitus interruptus" by getting a dog. Establish boundaries when you are in there...let the dog know that he/she is not invited.

I don't think it does. If you're weirded out by the dog being in the room, shut it out or put it in its kennel. Our sheltie is crate trained, so that's where he goes.
