What kind of walnuts....English or black walnuts? If they are black walnuts they should have the outer husks removed, & then stored in gunny sacks, etc. as I stated above. Or completely shell them & place in freezer.

in the fridge. all nuts and seeds taste more delicious and last so much longer in the fridge. i find if you take them out of their plastic and put them in a paper-lined plastic container they remain freshest. mmmm walnuts, although i have turned into a bit of a pecan fiend lately.

Freeze them... I once got really horrible food poisoning from a rancid macadamia nut. All those oils make them very prone to spoilage.
