Yes, they have equal power. That is, no power.

Don't ever doubt that God is far, far stronger than Satan. Satan's power is limited; God's power is limitless. Satan's power is temporary; God's power is eternal. Satan's power is entirely evil; God's power is entirely good.
Furthermore, Satan is part of the creation—but God is the Creator. In fact, the Bible repeatedly calls God the "Sovereign Lord"—because that is what He is. It says, "Sovereign Lord ... you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them" (Acts 4:24). Satan didn't make the world; God did—and God is still in control of it, because He is sovereign.
Yes, Satan has a certain measure of power, and we often see his power at work today. How else can we explain some of the terrible things that happen? Never forget that Satan has one goal: to block God's work wherever he can. To do this he will use every trick he can to deceive us and turn us away from Christ.
But someday Christ will return and destroy the devil's work. Satan is a defeated foe! Until that day, make it your goal to follow Christ. The Bible says, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8). Don't become his next victim!
I've been asked hundreds of times why God allows evil to take place, and I have to tell you honestly that I do not know the answer—not fully. The Bible talks about "the mystery of iniquity" (2 Thessalonians 2:7, KJV)—and that's what evil is: a mystery.
But let me tell you three very important truths about evil that might help you. First, the Bible tells us that evil does not come from God, nor can we blame God for all the evils in the world. Evil comes instead from Satan, and it entered this world when Satan deceived Adam and Eve and caused them to turn against God. Both evil and Satan are real, and the two go hand-in-hand.
Second, the Bible tells us that someday all evil will be banished. The vast spiritual conflict between Satan and God that has raged from the beginning of time will be over, and God will be triumphant. Someday all evil will be cast "into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41, KJV).
Third, the Bible tells us that in the meantime, God can give us victory over evil. This doesn't mean bad things will never happen to us—but even when they do, we can know God is with us, and He will give us strength to stand against them. Isn't it better to face life's problems with God rather than without Him? No, we may not understand everything that happens to us—but when we know Christ, we know we are on the winning side. Why not commit your life to Him today?

Absolutely not! God created Satan and humans. He allowed Satan to try and tempt us, but he gave humans free will because he loved us so much. Gods influence is much stronger then Satans because he is the creator. If you align your will with Gods will then, Satan has no power or influence over you! God is the Alpha and Omega- the beginning and the end. The battle has already been won. When Jesus returns heaven and earth will become one and Satan will have no authority. God created him and God will destroy him. Seek to live Gods will and you will not fall into any deception. God is not weak he is all powerful, Omnipresent the creator of all living things!

Have wondered the same. Christians will tell you that god created satan so therefore god has much more power than satan. If that is the case why then hasn't god destroyed satan with a swipe of his hand? The answer is one of the following: a) god enjoys watching us humans suffer and in pain at the hands of satan, or b) neither god or satan exists. I tend to think the answer is (b).

Of course not!
God created Satan. If Satan had the same power as God, then you would have 2 Gods, not one. Isn't Christianity a "monotheistic" religion, you know, One God...

no way! absolutely not! here is the story.
this happened in heaven before time (i mean shortly before the earth was created)
God created a beautiful angel... was powerful and holy and beautiful. he was amazing. he was a masterpiece.
his name was luicefer.
but he got this idea into his head that he should be worshipped instead of God- he thought he was more powerful! So naturally God kicked him out of heaven!
shortly after he created the earth, and satan entered. (satan is luicifer, incase you were wandering). he knows that God is more powerful than he... it even says in the Bible that the devil trembeles in God's presence!
Satan knew God's plan for redemption and eventually how he could come back to earth and rein victorious.. and hes been doing everything possible to change that.
The bible says that God has more power than we can even imagine. We are trapped in our own ideas of power... even time. Time is really a physical thing... it does not limit God. geez, God created time!
it drives me insane to think about what was going on before earth was created.
but anyway, God is all powerful, all knowing and most importantly, he is all love.

God created Satan, who was once a good angel. How can Satan and God be equal? Bunk.

Yes they do have equal powers. Why would you ask that if you are a Christian then you would know that.So I go to church and they both have a very large amount of power. But some people think that they do exists but the really do.If god did not exists then they wouldn't have made Adam and Eve who made kid and so on.

God is omniscient, Satan isn't. God is omnipresent, Satan isn't. God is omnipotent, Satan isn't. God is the creator, Satan is the destroyer. God is love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, righteous, holy, just, truth. Satan has none of these characteristics. God is victorious, Satan is defeated. End of discussion.

God created Lucifer, and cast him out of heaven, if Satan had more power don't you think it would the other way around?

God has the ability to make you do his bidding but he honours his agreement to not interfere with your freedom of choice. Satan has no power other than to tempt you with guile and lies.
