Because they are big fat cons. They are paying farmers etc less and less everyday, squeezing their margins and profits so that Tescos don't have to take the cut themselves. Terry Leahy should be ashamed of himself.
Someone once told me that Tesco pay farmers less for their milk than it actually costs to produce it. Not quite sure how that works but I've never forgotten it.
Why don't you try asking Tesco the same question. They might have to apply for a gagging order to shut you up cos you may have stumbled on the biggest conspiracy in history....

I don't know about lowering prices everyday but some thing I buy have gone up by 3p or more. I have been in three times this week for Potatoes - Charlotte potatoes in a box - they haven't had any!! I am rather disappointed, I don't quite know how they made their billions in the first half of the year, must have been on the clothing etc..

They only have to lower one or two things in price in a day and the statement is still true, so 365 days a year only 365 products have to be reduced a year and probably only by a penny, so effectively it could take hundreds of years before anything is free.

I don't know what Tesco is, but if they are lowering prices everyday, eventually they should be paying you to buy stuff.
