no matter what i do, i can't keep my hair from going flat. it looks decent when i finish styling, but after an hour or so, it is completely flat. i have used tons of different hair products, but nothing seems to help. i do flat iron my hair every day, so i'm sure that plays a part, but i have to straighten my hair. my hair is also thin, so i know that is the major reason why my hair gets flat. can anyone help me? i would love some advice. thanks!

i have chemically straightened my hair once, and it damaged my hair so badly that i will never do it again. i don't have curly hair, i just have a wave in it which tends to make it get frizzy.

Try using a relaxer to straighten instead of a flat iron. Also, incorporate some shorter layers underneath to add volume. Avoid using products, they will weigh down your hair. Using an anti-residue shampoo once a week will clean off excess film from your hair. And finally, find a nice volumizing conditioner.

well, try not straightening it one day, probabl,y on a day you don't have to leave the house so you can avoid anyone seeing you try this experiment. When you style your hair, try letting it do what it wants, just so long as you part it(if you normally part it) or what-ever.....Try turning your head upside down (I'd say lock the bathroom door for this) by bending-over and drying your hair, then, with your head still upside down, apply any leave-in products you use, then turn your head the right way to look in the mirror to style it. That lets gravity pull your hair "up" for you.....also, a moderate to strong-hold hair-gel works for keeping the volume in your hair, just be sure it's something you like....
and if you do this on a day you don't have to go anywhere, you can check it any time you want to make sure you like it

Do not apply conditioner and other heavy products directly to your roots and scalp. Blow dry your hair bent at the waist and direct the airflow downward.
