Your "spot" will go to a pathology laboratory, who will stain the skin and then look at it under a microscope after they have sliced it into very thin sections. This can take anywhere from 24 hrs to a couple of weeks, depending on the lab and their workflow.
You are safe because the lesions were removed. You will be safer once the type of bad cells are identified to make sure that you don't have a type of cancer with a high rate of recurrence.

When they take a spot of the body, they take a bigger chunk than they need so they can check and see if the surrounding tissue is abnormal too. Some offices can do this in house in about an hour and some have to send the results out. It you had it done at a hospital, chances are you will get the results faster. But no, they aren't going to let you leave unless they are at least 99.9% sure they got all of the abnormal tissue that they could.

If your doctor's office has a lab in his or her office to run the test, maybe...most doctors have to send lab tests out to have them run and will not get the results back before you leave. A 24-hour turn around time is about as fast as you'll get it if it was sent to a lab.
