Liver of a goose that has been force-fed, especially to enlarge and engorge the liver.

The real spelling is Foie Gras.It is a French delicacy usually made from geese (Foie gras d'oie) or ducks (Foie gras de canard) livers. The animals are force fed to make their liver become very fat. Personaly I do not like the taste that much.

yes, it's goose liver, specifically it's from the liver of a goose which has been force fed unnatural quantities of grain. And I have to say, even though I'm not a fan of offal, or animal cruelty, it does taste rather nice!

foie is french for liver and gras is fat or greasy
it's usually produced by force feeding ducks or geese on sweetcorn, they love it

Yes, it is the liver of geese (not ducks) who have been force-fed to make the liver particularly large and engorged with fat. Gross, and far too expensive.

Yes, it's duck liver, right?

This is considered a delicacy and it's very expensive!

I haven't had any. It's also high in fat and cholesterol! :)
