2 Peter 2:19
They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.

The only thing I can think of is caffeine. That and my mom and brother both can lay guilt trips on me like you would not believe. I have a very strong will. That's one reason why Christianity didn't work out for me.

I'm not atheist--I'm Pagan--but I love this poem:

I woke up to an empty room

No more angels watching over me.
No more demons to be held at bay
by the invocation of
an Anglicized version
of a Hellenized version
of a Hebrew name

I woke up to an empty room:

Just a room. Four walls, ceiling, floor.
Just a room. Nothing more.

I woke up to an empty room
and embraced the solid air.

I woke up to an empty room and knew myself

awake.

Oh sure, all kinds of stuff. Quite a boring list though.

Arguably the most interesting is my inability to bear having anything on my neck. So my clothing choices are limited to collarless items. What a bore!

Knowledge and logic, hence my atheism.

But it's not a master/slave relationship more as a thinker/tool relationship. I use them as my tools for understanding the world.

I willingly give myself as a slave of Christ Jesus, for Him to use me as He wishes, and I pray that He will give me strength from Him to follow Him, and hear His voice. God bless!
