Your are HIRED!! I am always looking for such a person...
Yes, it is a good idea..
You will be safest to carry an insurance policy for this..Not very expensive..like in case a dog escapes from you..However, if you are choosy to get only well behaved or smaller dogs, you may not need it...I wouldn't risk it though, (as one who lost our home/farm from such a suit)..
Anyway, to put up fliers at pet supply shops, vet's clinics,, grooming shops, etc..would likely generate you good business..

the average dog walker charges $15 per hour walk, but you will likely get more business from fixed income retirees if you can do it for less...such as a monthly plan..
In the beginning, don't try to take more then two dogs at a time..

In my area there is a married couple who do this I often meet them on the common with half a dozen dogs at a time (they are very experienced dog people) it's nice to see all the different dogs getting on together, they never let a dog off it's lead until they are quite sure that it responds to commands from them, and in the 6 or so years that they have been doing it they haven't had any problems, I hope they never do as they do a great job.
Good for you
& Good luck.

I like to walk my own dogs however.......I need the exercise!!!

Good idea just make sure the dogs are friendly and that they do not show agression towards strangers. Also charge a reasonable fee after all you are doing ppl a service of walking their dogs. Great way to make money and loose weight at the same time.

NOT. If you get a bunch of strange dogs together and especially if you dont have much experience with dogs, they may get out of control. A lot of people wouldn't trust their dog to a stranger to walk. A better idea is to offer to take one of your neighbors dogs (who actually knwos you) for a walk every day. The owner would probably be willing to let you do that. If things don't work out you can always get a friend to walk a mile wiht you

I don't know that I would adevertise in a shop eindow @ first. You don't know what type of people are going to answer the add. Word of mouth spreads quickly though so maybe let the shop owner know. THere are lots of people who have god size companies by doing this in the eves or in the daytime hrs. You do need to know something about the animals and know your limits. 3-4 big strong dogs. or determaned little ones can be a little much.

Very good idea. As an (ex-)dog owner myself, I would have paid for this service at least a few nights each week if someone had been entrepreneurial enough to offer it. You can also offer to take the pets to the vet, which is inconvenient for those who work during the day.

As long as you are willing to take on the responsibilities of caring for someone elses pet, and all the things that can happen while walking a pet. I think it is a wonderful idea. There are many people who would love to walk their pets but are not able to do so.
You might be providing someone with a very grateful helping hand. Good luck!

I think its a good idea....there are many dogs that don'g get walked enough. Just remember though that if anything happens to the animals, or one of them does something bad, while in your care you could be held liable. So you might consider haves some kind of insurace or forms for people to sign that will release you from liability.

Give it a try, u maybe surprised at the good res-ponce.
You may need to check out if you need insurance or not, if u are charging for this, if not, as long as u have a good understanding of handling dogs, then the rest should be straightforward.
Good luck

sI think it is a very good idea for both you and the dogs. We have such a service in our village and it is called "lead and feed". they look after dogs in peoples own home, while their owners are away on holiday, feeding them and taking them for a walk too.
The service is quite a good little earner. £10 hr. with food supplied by the owners!!!!!!! who knows in a few years time you'll have gone nation wide. Go for it and good luck!!
