The word rapture is not found in The Holy Bible. It means to be taken up into the air. That is when Jesus Christ comes back to this earth He will take all those who believe the blood He shed for them is the only thing that can cleanse, forgive and remove all their sins from them to be with Him forever in heaven. Are you ready?
Jesus Christ Is the Only Way To Heaven!
In The Holy Bible, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. He meant “I am the only way to God the Father and to heaven”, “I am the only truth that you need to know.” and “I am the only spiritual life available to mankind.” In other words, “I am the only true and living God.”
All other so-called gods are false gods. They are not real. They do not exist. Satan creates counterfeit gods, religions and faith in them. They appear to be the genuine articles but they are false. They are phony. They are bogus. No other so-called god has the power to forgive, cleanse and remove all your sins from you to get you to heaven. They don't even claim to.
I pray you will believe this and accept the fact that you are a sinner needing to be saved from your sins (“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23, The Holy Bible.) and accept the fact that the blood Jesus Christ shed for you at Calvary is the only way you can have your sins forgiven, cleansed and removed and is the only way you can get to heaven. I pray you will acknowledge that you are a sinner and ask Jesus Christ to forgive, cleanse and remove all you sins and accept Him into your heart/life to live for Him the rest of your life. (“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12, in the Holy Bible.) That is what it means to be born again. (“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 in The Holy Bible.) Salvation is a free gift. You cannot work for it. You cannot be good enough to earn it. You must, by faith, receive it as a free gift. (“8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.”) Ephesians 2:8-9.
God loves you and it is not His will that you perish in hell.
(“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” II Peter 3:9 in The Holy bible.)
This is my prayer for you

the rapture is an undocumented, and theoretical event that either preceeds, cpmes after or in the middle of the 7 year tribulation. At that event all those who have accepted Jesus as savior disappear in an instant and go straight to heaven. It is an interesrting idea but sounds like an imagenary scenario, since so far God has not used any such severly out of the natural rules kind of activity. So far the things that God has done in recorded history are in the nature of knowing about a natural event and using that for His purposes. I believe He could do such things but see no advantage in doing so. This rapture thingy is not in the Bible but if one extrapolates from putting together some scriptures it is one way to interpret some prophetic scriptures. I would not make any plans based on this theory, it is more likely that evolution is true

The Lord predicts the great tribulation in Matthew 24, beginning with Verse 15, but especially in Verse 21:
"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be." (Matthew 24:21 RSV)
This will be a time of terrible cataclysmic catastrophes throughout the whole earth, whether by nuclear warfare or by the direct intervention of God is not always clear. But it will be a time of violence, of worldwide conflict, of great destruction, of strange, horrifying sores breaking out upon the bodies of men, and of death. All this is described very vividly in the book of Revelation. (This is what frightens most people who read that book.) Yet all of these things will be occurring under the overruling hand of God, precisely according to schedule and running their course to accomplish their purpose as God has outlined. That will be the great tribulation period.
The Scriptures indicate that God will take the church out of the world before this time -- not, of course, the entire body of Christendom (that is, all those who say they are Christians), but those who have come into a genuine, saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who are (to use his own words to Nicodemus in Chapter 3 of John's Gospel) "born again," who have become "new creatures" in Jesus Christ by having received the life of God into their own hearts and lives. These are the ones he comes to take out of the world before this judgment period begins.
This view of the sequence of events is called the pre-tribulation rapture. Rapture is the word applied to the departure of the church to be with the Lord. It is my personal conviction that the rapture will occur before these great tribulation events -- therefore it is pre-tribulation. The view which sees the rapture as occurring after the tribulation is called "post-tribulation." There are still other views which are held about the sequence. Regardless of the view of the timing of the rapture with respect to the tribulation, it is clear that Christ's return in power and glory follows the tribulation and brings it to a close. Thus it is my conviction that the rapture precedes the coming in power and glory and is separated from it by the events of the great tribulation.
So, with the rapture and the tribulation in mind, let us consider that the Bible predicts certain patterns of events which will occur before the actual closing of the age and Christ's return:

The rapture or calling up is when Jesus comes back for those who are dead in the grave and us Christians left on earth and we will be transformed into our glorified body and go to heaven with Christ. It also starts the 7 year tribulation. See 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 35-50.After the 7 year tribulation Christ will come all the Way back to earth and defeat Satan with a great army. We will be with him. It will be so awesome.

It is when Jesus comes to take His bride to the wedding feast.
There is much evidence of the early teachings of the PreTrib rapture that predates John Darby. He popularized it, but as researcher Grant Jeffery details in his book Apocalypse, including Ephraim the Syrian in AD 372. Many saw "our gathering together unto Him" as a reference to the rapture. Along with the many Scriptures that indicate the rapture. Darby’s teachings were controversial because they took on the allegorizing and spiritualizing method of pagan Greece as brought into the church by Augustine. It is impossible to really understand Bible prophecy unless it is taken literally.

The Rapture is an event in certain systems of Christian eschatology (the study of the end times) in which it is believed that all born-again Christians will be taken from Earth into Heaven by Jesus Christ. Although almost all forms of Christianity believe that those who are "saved" will have eternal life, the term "rapture" is usually applied specifically to the belief that Christians will be "taken" into Heaven at a specific moment. Its introduction and popularization in Christian belief is relatively recent, and the teachings of older Churches do not include any such doctrine.

Rapture is the Christian belief that at the end of time, Jesus will come back for his church. The bible says "that we will be lifted into the air to meet Jesus" and that "the dead in Christ will rise first" In simple english terms, it is the time when People who have accepted Christ as their personal savior will be taken to paradise before the tribulation. For more information see the book of Revelation. (FYI find a good bible scholar, cause that book has some tough reading, or talk to your pastor, who should be a good bible scholar :P)

1Thessalonians 4:15-18 (NLT)
15 I can tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. 18 So comfort and encourage each other with these words.

The idea of the rapture comes from Protestant End of Times theology.
The funny thing? It comes from the Latin Vulgate bible. A bible they don't believe in.
Rapture does not appear in the bible. It comes from the word "raptus" in the Latin Vulgate. Raptus means to be torn away.
"one will be taken (that is torn away), the other will be left behind."
Protestants have interpreted this as a kind of blissful lifting up of God's people before a time of great tribulation. However, if you read the bible, no one is spared. The best of God's people will go through hell, for lack of a better term, same as the nonbelievers.
