I did when I was in that age group. I thought then, and I thnk now that the age restriction is ridiculous. Personally, ALL age limits should be lowered from 18 or 21 to 13. The thing about underage drinking as it stands now is that, by having to do it in secret it makes more troubles. It requires them to become involved in criminal activities even to obtain it, either by stealing it, or having soneone buy it for them. The best solution is to lower the age, then, if it becomes a problem, they can admit to needing help without the other repurcussions. Most underage drinkers that have a problem with alcohol don't seek help because of the reaction to their age, rather than an unwillingness to admit that they need help. They are adults, let them be as such....treat them as such....

I have an 18 year old who seems to be experimenting with that. I don't condone it, but have no problem with him having a 1/2 a beer here at home -if he stays home for the night and doesn't drive!

I don't want him to drink somewhere, and get in his car and drive, or drive with a friend who has been drinking.

It is just not a wise thing to do - regardless of age! Too many lives lost drunk driving!

I did when I was under age, the problem with that is that I ended up with an ulcer before I was legally able to drink. Now I gotta take it slow. But would I do it all again? Yes.

"underage" is relative. many countries in europe have drinking ages of 16. and as long as you dont binge drink its not bad.

i drink sometimes. but i realy dont think its as big a deal as it seems. i mean, unless your getting totally hammered everyday and then driving around aimlessly, then yeah, that might be a problem. but i dont drive or typically do anything too stupid if im drinking =) plus, i can legally drink im some countries or at least i think i can.

Do you remember that public service annoucement that says
"Don't let drugs get in the way of your dreams" Well it is true. Stop now or don't start. Take it from one who has been there. Yes alcohol is a drug. Just because it is legal, does not make it a good thing.

I did, I'm legal now. I don't think it was really my brightest move, but I was responsible with it, I think we need to instill that in kids, b/c like it or not, some are gonna, and we need to teach them to at least know what to do to not kill themselves or someone else!
