This statment is definately based on opinion and not fact. I think that if i government truely loved its people than it would not only survive but flourish.

The statment can be true if "love" is replaced with "appease"...to appease everyone is phyiscally impossible...because what people want and what is good for them are not always the same thing.

Solomon loved his people and had one of the greatest nations all time.

It is true. For instance Social Services was put in place to help the low income and the needy but guess what they don't help they instead try to lock you in the system so that they can keep a "job". This is from personal experience. Here is perfect example, there are about 15-20 computers in the social service dept. but none does not work. Because if it works then people would find jobs and wouldn't need their sevice. eg 2. There is a programe call job first, that is mandatory, but never seen a recruiter come to hire no-one. So if the government acts like it loves us then they wouldn't have jobs.

I'm not quite sure, but it sounds like a cynical, almost Machiavellian quote. It seems to mean the people are generally too stupid to know what they need and what makes society function, and that only a government elite has the capacity to make a system that works.

That government looks out for themselves, if they cared about the people, they will not survive because they would spend all their budget into helping the needed. I don't know, just trying to guess.

It means that if a GOVERNMENT as a being loved its people, it would be giving out social welfare to all.. housing to all.. education to all.... vehicles to all and the government would go broke.. The exception is to Mexicans who get all and the taxpayers pay for all.

Looking for a comma (or two) in your sentence...
If I read it as I think where you would place just one comma, "We the people" would NOT survive....I think. But then, again...here we are! So I guess I am not sure there is really a definate answer. Looking forward to other answsers and your vote for best answer.

Politicians strongly feel that we as people are idiots and we lack the ability to make proper decisions that benefit us and the country so if they listened or "loved" us, the government and its foundations would crumble on account of our stupidity and our poor choices.

it means that if a government loves it people, they would be nice and all and lose alot of money, and if it doesn't love its people, it will be ruthless and harsh and survive. (i think)
