TICKLE THEIR FANCY............

Depends on the person. Shopping cheers my mom up, flowers would not. I prefer to work in my garden if I need cheering. Sometimes just acknowledging the problem someone is having can help them.

I make them food. I swear, my kids are going to be the fattest kids ever. Everytime someone around me needs cheering up I hit the kitchen, "Here, I made you some chocolate chip cookies!" lol but it works. However, the better-for-the-waistline-response would be to spend some time with them, if that's what they would like. I know when I'm feeling kind of blue, it's nice to have a friend come over and watch a chick flick or something.

Send them flowers, send a card, take them to dinner, go with them on a walk, just sit and listen while they talk about what is on their mind. buy them a box of chocolates, take them for a coffee at a nice coffee shop, take them to a concert, take them to a play, a movie, a theater performance. I have run out of ideas, hope one of these is helpful. Good luck and God bless

Take them to a comedy club. Or tell them a really stupid joke. Food helps in some cases.

Be positive around them, take them out for a meal, and a drink, shopping, to the cinema. Best let them know you are there for them
