Yes and no. Realize that if this relationship doesn't work so can your friendship and if that is something that you are willing to give up then go ahead.

I think close friends are the BEST type of boyfriend, because you already know each other so well. But, you have to be extremely close, because if you two decided that your relationship is better as a friend status (and break up) you'd probably want to remain friends. If you do decide to enter a relationship with your best friend, know that it is always awkward in the beginning, and if it doesn't get better, it means you were always meant to be just friends.

i dont think it's the best idea in the world, but it just MAY work. i think that friends should just stay friends because the reason u break up could be the reason for u to hate each other in the end and never talk to one another. it doesnt always happen like that but it does happen. no way!!!!!!!!! it is not good to enter a relationship with a close friend.

That's the best kind of relationship to enter - it has a better chance of lasting.

Sometimes that's the best kind. You already know each other. Why do people have a group of friends, then keep this 'boyfriend person' in a separate category? Beware that if it doesn't work out, you will probably lose the existing friendship.

Friendship is a great foundation for a relationship. Chances are, if you're friends before the relationship, you'll be friends after as well.
