I'm assuming you mean ear mites. You can get several kinds of ear mite medication. The kind you get over the counter will take several applications. If you go to the vet and get prescription strength once or twice will do it. Unless the kitten comes in contact with another cat with mites you should not have any more problems. You might want to wear some protection. Depending on how bad the infestation is, the medication will sting the kitten because it contains alcohol. Also the kitten will shake it's head and all that black ick with get all over you. You might want to try it outside..........at least the first time. Hang on to kitty tight or perhaps wrap it in a towel first, because she ain't gonna like it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did a vet diagnose the kitten with ear mites? If not take your cat to the vet and get the ears checked. All too often people assume their cat has mites and treat with an OTC product when all the time the cat has an infection and it ends up being made worse. Also you should never use OTC products on your cat since many are worthless and are not safe.

From my veterinarians' guide to natural remedies there are methods for getting rid of ear mites. They can take up to six weeks with intensive treatment.

A vet can just get rid of them with a single shot. That is the best way to go IMO.

My vet gave me Revolution for my cats' ear mites. Go to or call the vet and have them recommend a product.

Your local vet will have several ear mite remedies to recommend to you. I don't think you can buy ear mite medication from an ordinary pet store - you need to go get it from the vet.

Beleive it or not Monistat that you use for yeast infections works great. You put a very little in each ear once a day. Very good home remedy and works. Good luck....
