Do you know the right term for the hairstyle? Also, suggest a good hairspray/ spritz that holds VERY well but doesnt leave that hard, crunchy, stiff look.

Simple. Take small sections of your hair. About 1/2" in thickness and twist them loosely or tightly, the more tight the more crimped it'll look though, pin them up using two bobbie pins placed crosswise (like an X) of each other, spray them with and Extra Hold hairspray. Suave makes a nice herbal one in a pump bottle. And do this when your hair is damp. After it's dry take them out and treat them like you would curls from a curling iron. Use a pick to seperate them, and put a little more hairspray in. I've done this a few times for that curled/wavy look and it looks better than anything done with a curling iron.

I know exactly what you mean but i don't know the correct term for it. I do it all the time. Here's what i do...

first of all i get out of the shower but i don't brush or pull my hair straight with the towel but i scrunch it with the towel

then i scrunch it with Solon selective moose that i got at shoppers but you can get it at pretty much any store that sells hair products. (wal mart, zellers etc... )

next i fix my part to however i want it that day and sometimes i pin my bangs back with a Bobbie pin or something...

then i put hairspray in, ( but not so much that my hairs stiff)

then i let it air dry and it gives it a nice curl but if you want more of a wave just don't scrunch it enough.. and if that's still giving you too much of a curl then try bushing it out before you scrunch it.

Good luck:)

Apply light moisturizer (water, gel, whatever) to hair. Braid or twist hair in sections, tuck ends under, and secure with mini scrunchies. The more of these plaits or twists you put in your hair, the fuller and curlier it will be. For looser waves, section hair into 2-3 parts. Tie a satin scarf on your head. Go to sleep. In the morning, carefully take out the scrunchies. Style with fingers. Do not use a brush or comb.

I use Aquage, a defining gel. I went out last Saturday night and I sure got alot of compliments on my hair. If you decide to get that, make sure you start in the back and go forward while scrunching your hair .. a tip I got from my hair stylist. Use it on a damp hair and let it air dry or use a diffuser. Hope you find a product that is right for you.

well to get wavey curly-ish hair i always put my hair in 2 or more platts (the more you do the more curls you get) after i've washed my hair, with hair still wet, add a bit of Loreal Elnet hairspray (doesn't make your hair go crunchy) either let it dry naturally or dry with a hair dryer. when it's dry and you take the platts out ~ voila...twisty/wavey/curly hair.

(not sure on exact name for the hairstyle)

hope this helps :-)

Just braid your hair in lots and lots of little braids and sleep in it, the morning you wake up, take the braids out and you will have wavy hair.

Braid hair while damp and sleep on it. Unbraid in the morning, use a little matte styling spray or wax/paste for hold..

the key thing is products products products...i would use like a leave in condtioner and a soft gel combination...so basically something creamy and tacky...or a leave in cream and a serum...and scrunch away...after that...leave alone to dry...that is the best for curly wavy hair...
