Do you often choose evil after God talks to you?

Or are you so very different from them?

Let's not forget that you have knowledge of the laws of Moses, and the grace of Christ. They had neither.

God spoke to Noah and told him how to build the ark and Noah tried to tell the people about the flood and that God was instructing him to build it because of the flood that was coming. They laughed at him. And they had the free will just as we have today. They chose not to believe Noah and that the world was going to be flooded. And Noah didn't shut the door of the ark, God did.
We all fall short of God's will every day sometimes when we don't realize it. But God is merciful and forgives us. Of course that doesn't give us an excuse to sin knowing we can get forgiveness.

They had the same knowledge of the laws of God and the sacrificial system as we do, and yet we do as they did. Although the sacrificial system has been done away with, not so with the laws of God. If God could have done away with His laws then there was no need of a sacrifice in the first place, and there would not have been any evil either. We, as the human family of Adam, have always had the grace of Christ, that is why God did not destroy us along with Lucifer in the beginning.

That is exactly why spoke directly to people in the Age of the Patriarchs, because they had neither the Law nor the Covenant of Grace.

Also, we are not little automatons--God gave us free will, to choose good or evil.

And human nature, alas, is still the same--even the apostle Paul said, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do, but what I hate I do." (Rom. 7:15, NIV)

We often choose evil over good, and but for God's grace none of us would see salvation.
