i just got into a fight with a kid who has ADHD. what exactly is ADHD and why does it make people so violent

When my son was young he played with a boy that had ADHD. Before I knew he had it he was the meanest kid I had ever seen. He picked fights and was really cruel. Then one day he was on his meds he was a perfect angel. I think they just can't control themselves as easy and they don't know what to do with their pent up frustration.

It does not make them violent. A lot of them are misunderstood. My son has it and if you can imagine your mind running circles around everyone elses. In the meantime you have all this energy that has no where to go. ADHD is attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder.

the most vivid analogy I've heard to explain ADD/ADHD to someone unfamiliar... imagine if you will - two people are assigned the task of digging a ditch, 6'x3'x10'... one person is issued a shovel and the other a spoon... the person with the shovel can have an IQ of a rock... ADD folks generally have high average to superior intelligence but they are issued the spoon... and the task has to be completed in the same amount of time, no allowances... imagine living life in those shoes... it explained me to me and I've since worked very hard to learn how to cope with my reactions to the inequities of life

okay. here's the thing. i'm 14, i've adhd, i'm not really that violent.
okay. i might throw/kick things when i'm really angry. i might really shout at my brother when he really makes me mad. i might run around or be super restless when i'm furious or nervous.
is that violent?
its just that the outer environment force us to act that way.

They can not control their emotions. Try to avoid the kid in the future.
