All your ma says is she doesnt know? Wow!!! I have a 15 year old daughter and if she told me somthing wasnt right like that, I would definitly have her an appointment ASAP. I realize that you are 18 and your ma cant "make" you go. So I guess its time to step and take the responsibility for your own health. I had similair, but also worse problems starting at the age of 17. I didnt put much thought into it. I just dealt with. At age 19 I was diagnosed with something that I cant even spell, but if I would have waited 6-12 more months it would have probrably turned into cancer. Thats what the docs told me. At age 30 I had to have a hysterectomy for two more things that were wrong with me. NO MORE BABIES!!!! This is fine though because I have 3. But after my surgery the doc told me that he was surprised that I had ever had any because of the damage that all of these problems had created inside. Sweety!!! JUST GO TO THE OBGYN. If you cant afford it, go to your local clinic, and a lot of times an OBGYN will set up payment arrangements as long as you have something to give them at the time of the visit-with or without insurance. I really do wish you all the best. Let us know how things went. LOL

When you first get your period, it is sometimes inconsistent in it's timing. If you have had it for a while and it is doing this, I would definitely see a doctor.
It sounds like you bleed for about 2 weeks at a time. You could have fibroids or cysts causing the irregular bleeding. I had irregular bleeding following the birth of my youngest child and went to see a doctor about it. It turns out that I have an ovarian cyst that will be removed by surgery (tomorrow).
Pregnant? In five pregnancies, the only time I ever bled anywhere close to how your describe is when I was having a miscarriage with my most recent pregnancy. Definitely another "time to see a doctor" moment.
If I were you, I would make an appointment with a doctor as soon as possible. Even if you are still having your period, they will see you if you make an apointment (with as many times as I've had to see doctors this year while I was bleeding, this is something I know for sure!).
Just as an aside... having your period, while it may seem embarrassing, is a natural part of who you are as a woman. Don't be embarrassed by it! Most all of us girls have it and sometimes we have problems with it, too. Go to a doctor and get yourself checked out... if nothing else, your mind can be put at ease by a thorough physical.
Good luck!

It doesn't necessarily mean that you are pregnant. You can try a pg test but if it is negative talk to your obgyn. When I first started I was in the 6th grade and I would go for 40 days then stop for two weeks and go again for 40 days. It stunk. But my doctor said it can happen. You may need to get put on birth control to regulate your period better.

Has this happened more than once? You should probably see a gynocologist to make sure nothing serious is happening. The doctor might want to draw blood for a pregnancy test or to check your hormones. A physical exam might be necessary too.

Go to the doctors! If you're concerned, do it, or at least take a pregancy test. My mum still had periods when she was pregnant with my brother. Stress is also a reason for irregularity...

This doesn't sound like pregnancy. However, you DO need to make an appointment with your Gyn. as soon as possible and get a check-up!

I suspect you should see an OB/GYN since your mother is clueless, and nobody has educated you, is this the first time you have missed and are you intimate, I would think that at eighteen you would know , at any rate I would consult a MD.

The chances of you being pregnant are slim to none, but you may want to see a doctor so that they can regulate your cycle.
