I know that swimmers shave all there body hair to go faster but how does it help in the fighting sports?

It helps, because you wouldn't want your hair pulled while you were in a choke hold, would you? I think they get their hair "waxed" and some of them wear panty hose under their costumes like Richard "diet guru" Simmons.

I think it's just part of a fad or a trend that is going on, but there
could be legitimate reasons too. Swimmers remove it for aerodynamic reasons...and probably male runners could do this too, because removing hair will increase your speed slightly. Read the article on manscaping, and it might help why. I think another reason is if wrestlers are sweating profusely under the hot lights, the hair will just add to their discomfort. The hotter the temperature, the less body hair you will want for obvious reasons. I'm guessing the opposite is true, the colder the temperature, the more body hair you would want.

The reason is that when you are a body-builder/ wrestler etc.. and are in front of a crowd, oil on the skin enhances the appearance of the built form. Body hair would absorb some oil and prevent the glistening appearance these men have. So no body hair equals shiny oily muscles. Also, in UFC, the oily hairless body makes it more dificult to grab and hold onto, so pins and sub, mission moves need to have a better hand lock than body grab.

i understand that some adult males shave using fact the "delicate" look implies a youthful physique formerly hair starts off sprouting in all styles of unique and each each and every now and then undesirable places. What with shaving and contacts and hair plugs, all human beings's so in touch approximately being some thing they don't look to be. in case you look like Koko the chimp, yeah, it is critical to to contemplate a sprint manscaping yet different than that, what's incorrect with "the organic look"? using my history, I even have little physique hair and that i can bear in recommendations whilst i replaced into approximately 13 or 14 that i could not WAIT to have a furry chest. Yeah, properly, that for the time of no way passed off, curse my heredity. i definitely like adult males with a wholesome dusting of physique hair. And talking of hair, check out the related commercial.

It's because when you're about to go into a fight you don't want the hair on your skin to get ripped out and it causes ingrown hairs if you don't shave it off. Also you don't have to shave off your body hair take a look at andrei arlovsky he's got mad chest hair and doesn't get rid of it for some it's vanity but I do it before a fight because it's practical and for safety issues.

It is to prevent pain and grabbing. the hair doesn't really serve a good function, they might as well shave it off as it has no redeeming value.

I also think there is some vanity reasons, these guys have to strip down to their shorts in front of TV camera's , so some of them may do it for looks.

Or it could be a practical thing. My dad was a business man for 40+ yrs, when he retired he showed me his ankles, he had a perfect line where his dark suit socks had removed the hair from rubbing him there day in and day out for all those years.
So, these wrestlers may have their hair pulled out from wrestling.

If they are hairless, when they get sweaty their opponent cannot get a grip of them, have you ever had body hair pulled, it could be somewhat of a distraction in a fight. It's the same reason they wear little clothing, gives them more of an advantage when it comes to getting out of submissions etc

the fight biz is also very much the entertainment biz, they shave cuz it looks better, it also shows the muscles better which can intimidate the other fighter which makes the fighter who shaves a lil more confident when they look better and you also sweat less with no body hair and stay cooler

When fighting hair only gives ones opponent something to grab on to.

Its so they are more slippery, it is alot harder to submit someone when they are all slippery. Most of the people that do it are usally not good at defending submissions, so they want every advantage possible. Peace
