Mine does this - well the boy cat does. His sister, not so much. Although i am convinced my baby boy is gay. LOL. He is such a pansy. He always calls to you until he can see you. I have no idea what he must do when he comes in through his cat flap and im at work - guess he calls and calls and then decides to have a tantrum and run around a bit, scratch at stuff and generally sulk til I get home!

in simple terms as your vet won't diagnose your cat without seeing it (malpractice) no one here can or ought to allow you understand what is going on with your kitty nor should you take suggestion from somebody who has not seen or been able to income your cat. What you have happening sounds quite extreme. i'm very much shocked the vet did not permit you understand to return in in spite of the cost. confident, after hours care is very high priced, yet you extremely shouldn't wait. You cat is in soreness. It won't eat by way of fact it is in soreness, and a cat who won't eat is in danger from fatty liver ailment that's very complicated (think of high priced) to handle and could reason your cat much extra soreness and could postpone her restoration dramatically. you are able to attempt calling around and seeing in case you will discover an emergency medical institution that could cost you extremely much less to stroll interior the door, yet there is fee in going to a vet you have a background with. Please, get your cat the help it desires now.

You are in bed and need warning he is coming or you may attack him if he catches you off guard. (I am coming up the stairs, you can't see me but I am friendly, I am getting closer, don't panic I am not aggressive...)
Mine does this also.
She also answers me when I am speaking to friends on the phone. I could never understand till I realised there was no one else there she she assumes I am talking to her.
She has some oriental in her so uses her voice a lot.

my male cat used to do that when he was allowed to go in and out at will. I believe DOMINANT cats to this calling thing when they get home to tell everyone "Master's home!" Why do I think this? Well, becuase when my male entered the house (thorugh an open window) calling, calling, my three other cats used to rush to him and he'd stand there accepting their purrs and rubs of greeting.

I don't know why they do it but my cat does exactly the same thing when she comes in. As if she doesn't make enough noise running up the stairs anyway. LOL

If you return the favour by calling his name back, he will continue to keep calling you also. So if you wish to stop the habit, stop responding. He will still come up to find you. He knows where you are.

My oldest cat keeps calling when he's caught a bird. He'll walk along with it in his mouth, making an awful noise. It's as if he's saying he's sorry, he couldn't help himself!
