I rather like tattoos.. The most painful place to get a tattoo on your body is places that have thin skin on it. Where your bone is close, such as the neck, face, etc. The more skin, fat and muscle in an area, the less a tattoo will "hurt".

I for one don't think tattoos are painful at all. It's sort of a twist between pleasure and pain for me. Almost erotic, similar to biting and torture type in bed. There is that borderline between pleasure and it being pain and tattoos walk that path for me.

I have three tattoos (so far) on my body. I plan on getting quite a few more. But, not too many. I am an actor, and every time I get a tattoo, that's something else to cover up. One of the least painful places in my opinion is the upper arm. Not unless you are skinny as a rail of course. I have two on my upper arms, and one on my chest. If you're not used to getting any sort of pain in a place, getting a tattoo there is probably going to be a pain in the ***. Which I heard is not a good place to get one either, but then again.. They could be wrong.

The one on my chest hurt quite a bit, but the skin on my chest is rather thinly layered, and I wasn't used to getting pain in my chest. If you are a person who gets beatings or fights and gets hit alot during those, any place where you have a pain tolerance high is great.

Just don't cry.

And make sure you make plenty of money. Most people are addicted after their first time. Look at Darth Maul.

The least painful place is where you have more body skin. I have 2 on my inside wrists they hurt, due to being close to the veins and no skin and the other 2 (I have a total of 10) that hurt were done near the collar bone. They hurt a bit, one more so then the other I can't figure that one out. Go to the shop, they will help you with the placement when getting it done, seeing you are having a quote done. You do not want to place a quote where it is going to look distorted when someone reads it. Remember they are the pro's. Good Luck They will tell you also the best place to put it so it doesn't pain too much. Good Luck and just relax when getting it done. The worst thing you can do is tense up. All the best and Merry Xmas

The pain is different for everyone. The first couple of minutes you barely notice it. This would be the outline stage. As the coloring or details start to increase around the same area, it will start to hurt. I did not have a problem with it, my tattoo took 2 and a half hours and only the last 10 minutes I actually felt.

The least painful spot is an area of your body that is exposed to the sun, it means the nerves there are slightly deadened.

Choice places are usually, top of the back/shoulder blades, upper arms, and lower legs.

The places that you want to avoid. Stomach and chest areas for females.

Hi i have 6 tattoos, the first initial needle to the skin is like a bee sting, then as the skin seems to numb it becomes a dull burning sensation. Each person's pain tolerance is different. Based on my experience the flower on my ankle was the least painful, i had it done on the inside by the ankle bone. The most painful was the butterfly on my toe, when he went down the sides making it a toe ring. If you really want it the pain won't be an issue, if you go with something small and not real detailed, therefore less time and less pain.

The Pain Of A Tattoo

Getting a tattoo is very personal - some people are far more sensitive that others, so you're not going to know for sure until you get one. As far as what is feels like, I would describe it as being scratched by a cat over and over in the same spot - not unbearable, but it definitely hurts. A good rule of thumb to go by when choosing a place on your body - tattoos hurt more on sensitive areas, so if you're ticklish or it feels good to be touched there - probably not the best choice.

Kind of like a mosquito bite over and over. The most painful one I got was on my stomach - but that was partly due to the artist - he has a reputation for going way too deep and it scarred a bit as well. (the only one i got from that guy) The ankle one was kind of sensitive closer to the bone, the one about on my shoulderblade had a few tender areas, the one on my upper arm not bad at all. The least painful one was the little one in my ear - his fingers gripping my ear hurt more than the needle.

If you are looking to get one the main thing is get some recommendations from people who have used that artist.

Everyone's different.. It just depends how concentrated your nerves are at different places on your skin. It feels like a burning bee sting.. the parts of you that hurt to pinch or smack worse, will hurt worse from getting a tattoo.. The most painful for my was my lower back, my shoulder and my neck didn't hurt at all.

Its a hot pinching sensation. It doesn't bother you after 5 seconds.

The least painful place of my tattoos was my shoulder. I barely felt it. Your bum is also a pretty easy place that barely hurts.
