Atv, i know how utterly helpless u feel when u see those hair falling out. Its enough to depress u.

But, there are ways to soften the impact of the blow. Although there are many reasons why hair fall out (vitamin deficiency, imbalanced diet, etc.)m but there are certain things that u can do to lessen ur hairfall.

First, u need to switch to a milder shampoo, use a baby shampoo(no kidding!) or a medicated one.

Then there are a couple of home remedies(dont laugh at them, they work)

Get some yoghurt, apply it to ur hair for around 2 hours, then wash it away with shampoo.

This one's even better. Take an egg, remove the yolk from it, and appy the egg white to ur hair. Shampoo it away after a couple of hours, and u will instantly notice a shine in ur hair(dont worry, the egg smell doesnt stay).

You can alternate b/w egg and yoghurt every week.

Apart from that, wash ur hair thoroughly with cold running water. The way to do that is to put ur head under the tap, let the water to run through ur hair, and at the same time, massage ur scalp gently and deeply. Keep this up for about a minute.

I hope you will notice a marked improvement in the quality of ur hair, as well as the hairfall problem. Tell me if it works. All the best. Wish u good hair days from now on :-)

I've used various shampoos and i condition everyday and in my mid 30's i still have a head of hair thicker than the Amazon jungle before the bulldozer was invented. Even though i wear it short if i grow it long i'd have to buy Paul Mitchell....the company not the person.

First thing first visit your doctor it may not be the shampoo it may just be a build up of DHT (don't fret) or other natural cause. Your doctor can perform tests to make sure. But it could be stress, pregnancy (rare), lupus, diabetes or just a hormonal imbalance. For the latter you take some pills and poof it stops. Hair loss can be a sign of disease so in any case schedule a check up just to be safe. It could even be the age old culprit.....genetics.

As far as physical damage goes if you wear pigtails or cornrows or use tight hair rollers, the pull on your hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia (say: "al-oh-pee-sha"). If the pulling is stopped before scarring of the scalp develops, your hair will grow back normally. However, scarring can cause permanent hair loss. Hot oil hair treatments or chemicals used in permanents (also called "perms") may cause inflammation (swelling) of the hair follicle, which can result in scarring and hair loss. So corn rows are bad for your hair as is excessive braiding.

Rogaine is the most prescribed and recommended hair restoration product. Used as a shampoo and available everywhere without a prescription. Not cheap but it is the business. Propecia is a pill you can take (prescription only).

You don't give much to go on. Assuming you are a man it isn't likely to be shampoo causing it and it isn't likely that a shampoo or conditioner will fix it.

Most likely cause, genes. Is your dad or either of your grandads bald? If so it is probably that.

If they are bald then you will probably start losing hair the same age they did so ask them and compare their age whe starting to lose hair to yours now.

If you are going bald don't be upset. It hasn't held Vin Diesel back. He looks lots more exciting shaved than with hair.

Jojoba will clean the scalp down to the follicles. This is the primary reason for hair loss.

Also:

Don't cover your head, with a hat, cap, or scarf, unless required by weather or decorum.

Make sure your diet does not contain a lot of saturated fat.

Try Sunsilk. It is color coordinated by the hair type you have. Choose the kind of hair you have, get a shampoo, condioner, and hair cream for the best results. I tried it and it worked great for me!
