It says in Matthew 2:11 that when they came unto the HOUSE, they saw the YOUNG CHILD and fell down and worshiped him, and presented gifts to Him, Gold, Frankincence, and Myrrh. It doesn't say it was 3 men just three gifts. One could have brought the gold, another Frankincense and Gold, another Gold and Myrrh, another Gold, Myrrh, Frankincense and so on and so on.

I agree with you. No where in scripture does it say three wise men. It very well could have been, but an assumption was made.

Because in the NT it states that Herod sent three wise men to find the Christ child. Gifts don't just magically appear, unless Santa brought the gifts. *sigh*

Or maybe you could spend the extra money and get a whole passel of wise men to stand around the baby Jesus in your nativity scene.

What does it matter?

And btw, a month old baby is still a baby.

It is done due to tradition of the simplicity of a live action reenactment. It is easier to have the wisemen go the manger than having to change scenes. and it is easier to just have 3 wisemen than to have a large multitude in the cast.

In a Nativity Scene, we celebrate how Catholics and Christians describe the birth of Jesus. These elements that you speak of are very important in a Nativity.

I think it is mentioned that it was three wise men. Though you are right. They didn't find Jesus until nearly a month later.

And Jesus could have drove a triumph into Jerusulem instead of riding a colt in triumph into Jerusalem.

Eat the meat and spit out the bone.

It's just tradition of men

Indeed yes. But it's a nice tradition and doesn't really impact the reason for the season all that much... :-)
