I'm of the opinion that jealousy is pointless. If you want something tangible that someone else has, start with a plan, work toward the goal, and obtain it for yourself. If you're jealous of something you will never have (like height or looks or something) you need to work on accepting who you are and what you value in life. If you are jealous of someone else's personality or spirtuality, then you need to look at yourself, find where you can improve yourself to reach your own goals, and learn to accept who you are. Jealousy is a personal thing and the answers to combatting jealousy are within you. Know thyself, for in that lies the power to make your life what you want it to be.

I tend not to get jealous of people. The only selfish jealousy that I can think of is when my sisters get something from my dad and I don't. Just the child in me being immature.

I very, very seldom get jealous. I was always taught that jealousy is a sign that you need to work harder or shift your priorities, and that you don't get any happier or better off by making others more miserable or worse off. It's something I take to heart.
