Neither.....you shouldn't wait for anyone to come back to you. Move on with your life....but don't settle (you deserve better)...and if it's meant to be with the one that got away he/she will come back to you.

Never settle. Would you not rather be alone than be with someone that you're not that crazy about? And how would they feel knowing that they're not your true love but you decided that they were the more viable option at the time. That would hurt like hell. You've got to think longer term, supposing you had kids and then your true love made an appearance, what would you do? destroy your family? for someone you may "think" is the one? If they are the one that got away there was probably a reason for them not staying. Don't wait and don't settle, just be confident and comfortable with yourself, others will be drawn to you.

Don't wait for the true love to come back to you, because he probably won't. But don't settle for someone, however nice and reliable. It might go great for a few comfortable years, but eventually you'll start to resent the lack of love and passion. Just being content is not enough. You need to have some spark. And knowing you've "settled" is not good for a relationship.
You know he's not "the one." I'm sure there is another man out there who is. I'm not talking about the one who got away, I'm talking about someone new, someone you may not know yet. Hold out for him. You'd be amazed at the places where love turns up.

Depends on your age i mean if you are young then have fun but as you get older your fun runs out as you have responsibilities like children or your friends marry and settle down. So if you want to settle down then follow your heart.

but how do you know if you have settled.....?
maybe you have expectations way above ur self...? its so complicated to know wether you have met the one or are just wishing it so much that you make yourself believe they are right for you......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
