Give him an experience instead of another toy. Take him to a zoo or aquarium, go paint pottery, or to a museum that would interest him.

These are so much better for a child that is getting a little too spoiled with material possesions.

For a spoiled child, depending on how spoiled, I'd say absolutly nothing. But that is me, maybe some shoes or US Savings Bond and give it to his parents. He may not need more material things.

Some expierience. Take him to haunted houses or an amusement park, some place he'd like. Make it a surprise and don't tell him where you're going.

It's something he'll remember. Instead of some material item, he'll have a memory.

If you absolutely have to give him something, gift certificates for the fast food restaurants are
cool, movie rentals, movie $ or tickets to an event. You could also donate $10 in his name to the food bank, children's hospital etc and have a certificate made up. If he is into animals, the SPCA.

Adopt a hungry child... whom he can consider his long distance brother/sister for his birthday and beyond.... and add one thing he always wanted to have (toy... so he isn't too disappointed)... trust me I know there is something, because spoiled kids never stop thinking they need to have something. You can't really blame a spoiled child, because we make them that way... divert his attention away from himself by adopting a hungry child with him... for $20 a month... and he adds $5 bucks from his pocket money per month... or something like that.
