A good and cheap drink to make is something called a Tinto de Verano..or summer wine..it is very popular here in Spain.
It is redwine, and lemon soda served over ice. sounds awful, but it is delicious, and the quality of wine doesn't really matter so it can be made cheaply..it looks good, nice pink festive colour, and you can drink a fair number of them without getting blotto.. You can also use a diet sprite or diet 7up in place of the lemon soda, for a low calorie drink.. in a tall glass put 3 ice cubes, 1/3 wine and 2/3rds soda... more wine, the deeper the colour and stronger the drink..but it is yummmmmmmmmy.

margaritas and beer. they're easy because you just have to buy cans/bottles of beer or those pre-mixed of margaritas with tequila already in them.
Most people like one or the other of them too, so it works out well.
