My friends say that I am too paranoid about expirations dates on foods. He has maragine that is 4 months expired but he said that as long as it is in the frig I shouldn't worry. My physician friend stated that I can eat yogurt that is a month expired and another friend stated that milk and bread is good for a week after the expiration date. Are they correct? When should I get rid of bread, milk, yogurt and maragine?

I keep milk about a week past the expiration or until it starts to smell funny, bread i trash when it gets hard and/or moldy, margarine i honestly have never looked at the exp date, and unsure about yogurt. Most of these dates are not "expiration dates" some are actually "best if used by" dates.

With dairy products you should take expiration dates seriously, they go off quickly. Some foods can be eaten a while after they expire and they'll be fine. Bread a week after it expires would probably be ok, although a bit stale. The others it wouldn't be a good idea to eat long after the expiration date.

Try this. Drink milk about 3 days after the expiration date. Bring your friend along for a large glass.

I think you should get rid of them on the expiration date because When you drink expired milk it wont taste good, If you eat expired bread it will not taste good, If you eat expired yogurt it might be watery and if you use expired margarine it might not taste good.

It tells you if a product is extra healthful to be eaten/use. they're a handbook in spite of the shown fact that it additionally relies upon on how the product is stored and it in basic terms applys to an unopened product, as quickly as you have opened it that date no longer applies. case in point, in case you open a tin of beans right now and anly use a million/2 of it, it doesnt propose this is going to likely be extra healthful to be eaten as much as the date on the tin, no remember the way you shop it. customarily a use with the aid of date is precisely because it says, use it till now the date. ultimate till now potential that the product is gauranteed to be sturdy untill that date, yet previous that date this is going to become worse and alter into stale. In the two situations there is a few leeway yet extra useful to adhere to the dates and be secure. foodstuff poisoning isn't very advantageous!!!!
