i have messed and messed with this for an hour and when i go to preview in browser, it keeps hanging it either on the right or on the left side of the page. i want it next to the other picture i already have to the left. it keeps throwing it underneath.

neither first two answers have worked.

i have made my pictures smaller, because they were too big - but this still has not solved my problem. any other ideas anyone?

FYI FOR ALL, words preview in browser does not give an accurate view of what your letter will look like if you are adding clip art or photo's. once i looked at print preview, everything was fine and just the way i wanted it. when i printed - it was great. what a time wasting mistake that was!

It is probably putting the new picture underneath the first picture because the page width will not hold 2 pictures side by side.
Try adjusting your margins or make the pictures a bit smaller.
I have used spaces between pictures in the past to line them up too.
A picture is just like one big character so you can put other characters around it.

I would create a text box and then paste the picture into the text box.
