The best suggestion I have for you is to get some kind of identity theft protection. There isn't a lot out there and what is offered by your credit card companies will only help you with the credit cards. Identity theft can mean someone commits crimes in your name or gets medical care in your name. It can be a mess!

I know of a service that for $12.95 a month will monitor your credit report and any time an Experian report is pulled, you get notified via email. In the event that someone has wreaked havoc on your identity, this company will assign a licensed investigator that you give limited power of attorney to, and they will restore your identity FOR YOU! You won't need to spend hours on the phone cleaning up your life because of some other jerk out there.

Identity theft is the biggest crime on the rise because it is so easy to NOT GET CAUGHT! The mobs use it as well, I mean think about how easy it is for a murderer and thief to continue with life on someone elses information! Identities are bought and sold every day. Once your information is out there, you are seven times more likely to become a victim again because your information just circles till it can be used again.

I have the information regarding this company if you'd like to contact me. I'd love to help you out!

Good luck

The best way to report identity theft is to notify all the credit card companies that you have credit with such as VISA, department stores, etc. Then go onto the credit reporting companies web sites and there you can add a fraud alert to your credit files. The web sites are as follows:

www.transunion.com
www.experian.com
www.equifax.com

When talking to the credit card companies they will put you in touch with their fraud department. They might even send you a form to fill out and put it into writing. Fraud and identity theft costs consumers thousands of dollars each year.

your best bet with all of this is to call all of your credit card companies and banks and have your account frozen untill this is cleared up..you can also call the three major reporting companies transunion, 866-887-2373, equifax 800-685-5000, and experian 888-397-3742 and tell them what happend and your accounts can be put on alert for any new credit trying to be opened up in your name..in most cases you will get a phone call if anyone is trying to use your info...good luck

,I didn't read the whole article but I know if you call the credit reporting agencies and let them know you want a fraud alert on your credit report they can put that on for you. What it does is anytime you apply for something needing credit ,on your report it says to call you and make sure its you before giving credit.
