All of you people up to Nevada is wrong. BUSH HAS NOT SIGNED THE FENCE BILL YET WHAT HE SIGNED WAS THE APPROPRIATIONS BILL FOR THE MONEY FOR IT BUT NOT THE FENCE ITSELF.

I wondered about that. I saw press releases that he was signing the fence bill, but the only thing I heard about specifically was the appropriations bill.

edit - I emailed the White House (for what it is worth) and reminded them that we are watching this issue, that Bush agreed to sign it, and that trust is in short supply on this topic.

i'm not fence-phobic
i've built a fence to keep my dogs in
and to keep some creatures out....
a FENCE is a freestanding structure designed to restrict or prevent movement across a boundary. It is generally distinguished from a wall by the lightness of its construction: a wall is usually restricted to such barriers made from solid brick or concrete, blocking vision as well as passage (though the definitions overlap somewhat).
Fences are constructed for several purposes, including:
* Agricultural fencing, to keep livestock in or predators out
* Privacy fencing, to provide privacy
* Security fencing, to prevent trespassing or theft and/or to keep children and pets from wandering away
* Decorative fencing, to enhance the appearance of a property, garden or other landscaping
Some of the technologies developed for fencing include:
* Barbed wire fence
* Chain link fencing
* Electric fence
* Pet fence Underground Fence for pet containment
* Feather edge board and aris rail; feather edge board and cant rail.
* Hedgerows of intertwined, living shrubs (constructed by hedge laying)
* Palisade
* Picket fences, generally a waist-high, painted, partially decorative fence
* Invisible fence, an underground wire that shocks a dog through a shock collar if it approaches the boundary line
* Post-and-rail fencing
* Dry-stone wall or rock fence, often agricultural
* Split-rail fences made of timber, often laid in a zig-zag pattern, particularly in newly-settled parts of the United States and Canada
* Stake-and-wire fencing
* Ha-ha (or sunken fence)
* Turf mounds in semiarid grasslands such as the western United States or Russian steppes
* Wood-panel fencing
* Snow fence

Counting on this president's judgement, probably at the same time the conflict with North Korea intensifies.
We need to splurge tax money all over again, allocating it in the wrong priorities

I think both borders should be fenced. Then we can control who comes in and who stays. There is nothing wrong with that. But who will pay for it, all the money we sent to Iraq sounds good to me.

They will need to reclaim the border from the drug dealers and coyotes first.
