Feb.9th 2002,i had to spend a rare night away from home in Plymouth on business for my company. When i returned home to Bristol my home had been broken into and trashed.Besides the usual electrical stuff, that we all have, which was stolen, precious momentoes from my late father were taken. His doodles & sketches to me when i was a child gone,my old birthday cards from mum, gone,my photos holding hands with Dad on the beach, gone.A close friend(ha)who had the key to my house consoled me.To say i was heartbroken would be putting it gently. The police tried but to no avail.I did see 1 of my photos a week later in a field walking my neighbours dog torn up how the thief must have laughed at my photo album.I trusted my friend so i did not suspect him, never lied to him and it wasn't a sexual friendship O.K? In 2004 it dawned on me.Only 1 person knew i would be away, only 1 person knew where some of my precious things were(attic)only 1 person suddenly came into a bit of money. You may now laugh at me

What a smart girl you are. Totally ignore the fact that your I.P address has been stored by the site and start planning a crime with strangers. Have a nice time explaining this to the authorities.

Revenge never brings peace of mind just breeds more revenge , if you have carried out revenge what is to stop the person from returning the revenge on you, and then were does it stop. OK you may have been taken for a sucker and this makes you hurt and feel mad, but don't become like the person whom made you feel like a sucker. Learn from your mistakes so that on-one can hurt you in this way again, and as many others have said in reply about Karma what goes around comes around, you will see your day with this person it is just a matter of waiting, you again far more satisfaction when you have heard there been made a sucker of rather than carrying out revenge yourself.

Revenge is never worth it, even though you may think it will bring you closure. I've been taken for a sucker many a time and have always thought revenge was the answer then cooler heads prevailed. Chalk it up to lessons learned and don't go after them. If you go through with the revenge you end up being no better than them .

Personally I don't think so.
However, I suck at it so I don't even try. Perhaps if I could come up with something good, my opinion would change.
On the other hand, on the few occasions where I have, it hasn't made me feel better.
In most of the situations I've been in, I feel a desire for retaliation because I've been put down in some way. That isn't the fault of the person who did it - it's MINE! Because I gave them the power to hurt me in some way.
In that kind of deal, you're better off working on your own issues than in worrying about slapping back.

I've been played for a fool myself, so I know how tempting it is to plot revenge. But it won't bring you any peace of mind. Quite the opposite, in fact. It just wastes your time & drains your energy. It will bring no satisfaction in the long run & it'll eat you alive. Do what you must do to protect yourself, but no more. I have found that these things have a way of taking care of themselves. Call it retribution, karma, etc. Remember: "What goes around comes around."

Peace of mind is knowing that all is well, you are safe and secure and so are the ones you love.
Revenge is hurting someone because they hurt you.
It doesn't generally give you peace of mind it just gives you the satisfaction that you hurt someone who hurt you.
For me peace of mind would be making sure that that person couldn't hurt anyone again like they hurt me, preferably without killing anyone! Revenge would be me finding a way to hurt them but it wouldn't mean they wouldn't do it again to someone else. Also with revenge you run the risk of becoming just as bad as the person who hurt you.
Personally I don't think revenge is worth it or leads to peace of mind.
Retribution though...

if you need to justify the effort put forth into carrying out your "revenge" then it is no longer revenge. Since you are asking this question it seems to me your conscience is telling you not to go through with you vengeful act. The truth of the matter is that with revenge come consequences and must be ready to face them as much as accept them.

Revenge is not going to brng you to hapiness but leave a grudge on you for a while or for the rest of your life. If you have been taken advantage, then don't do another favor to that person again.

No NO NO!!!
vengence is mine says the lord...read it it is in your bible.
Instead Pray for that person... God said it is like pouring heaping piles of HOT COALS upon this person's head.
Now I realize the human side of us makes praying for them hard but just remember the effects. Sometimes they will come to their sences and become a better person. Always remember what comes around goes around... so they have not gotten away with anything, but I would hate to be in their shoes when God gets a-holt of them. Also remember this will make you a better person too and God send blessings to those who obey HIM.
Have a happy day and remember God already knows, but you have to go to him.

Revenge won't give you peace of mind. Forgivness will. Try to forgive those that hurt you. Look to the Amish for an example.
