The clerk usually thinks that I am buying games for a guy. I think video games are a lot of fun, why are they "for guys" ? Also, do guys like girls that play video games? Now, I don't mean shooting bloody games, I play games like Mario, skateboarding, Spiderman, the Sims. Please help me!

Video games are "for guys" for the same reason cars, tech gadgets, football, beer, smoking etc are also "for guys"... While, of course, cooking, shopping, watching soap operas, knitting etc are "for girls"... Because people love sooo much to think in clichees !...
Some guys like girls that play video games (I'm one of them). If you're asking this because you got some pretty weird reactions from guys on account of your hobby, I'll say only this: don't bother yourself with them and what they say. People are very different from one another in tastes and choices; it's impossible to please everyone (and it's also pointless -- who likes you does it for who you are, not for what they want you to be). I myself I'm pretty fed up with being labelled as "childish" for watching cartoons and playing games. I have a job, I work well, I make and keep plans for the future... but I also have fun -- and this also includes playing video games. So what?!? Why would I have to justify myself to anyone?!? Video games have been deemed as not being a serious matter... But of course they aren't !!! They're GAMES, for crying out loud !!!
Oh, but I forgot... For me, playing games is "only natural", right? And one more thing: I HATE FOOTBALL AND I LOVE COOKING !!! SUE ME !!!
Now, to draw the line, don't mind those voices calling you weird or God knows what else ! Remember, you don't have to comply with anyone's demands... Find some guys who like you for who you are (and kick their lilly a**es at Mario ! ;-P)

Actually, there are a lot of girl gamers. There just not as easy to point out like guys are with their Mario & Zelda shirts ect. There is actually an all girl clan called "The Frag Dolls". They are all gamers of all genre of games. Now as for the game store clerks, thier retarded. Simple minded feinds! Now I don't know about all guys, but I love having my girlfriend, or even a girl in general, play some Smash Bros. Melee with me or compete in some fighting games every once in a while.

That's cool that you're a girl that likes to play video games. It's something that we could do while hanging out, for instance. If you really want to get into a non-violent game that guys like, try Burnout 3 and any of the Ratchet & Clank games. They're ridiculously good.

I know a lot of girls who like video games... It's especially funny when a girl kicks a guys *** at a game and the guy gets all emotional! It's not as common for women to love video games but we are out there. And, in my experience, guys do like it. You are also less likely to nag them about playing so much! :)

hehehe.. because of my guy friends i've recently decided to like video games too.. although, this does now include some bloody games.. God of War and Halo and stuff.. but it's all fun :) I always go to the game stores with a guy though, especially since i dont know what i'm doing in there

girls and "kissy stuff" its a stereo type that has developed over the years, i have lots of girl--friends that play video games that are all really cool and yes i like them, most guys dont care what girls do, well to an extent

its ok i get the same thing i love video games and when im in the store they look at me funny like what is a girl doing in here..i let them know that yo i like games to and and my x bfs in the past didnt seem to mind because wed play together

nothing wrong with that, just like a guy that likes doing his hair eyebrows and stuff! and he doesnt have to be gay. i'd love to meet a person taht likes video games as much as i do, i dont see anything weird with u!
