If I went to a restaurant, and ordered a friend chicken, and mashed potatoes, and 20 minutes later a round circular disk was brought to my table, and it was yellow in color and had red dots on it, and smelled like marinara, and when tasteing it, it didn't taste like chicken or mashed potatoes, and tasted like mozarella instead,

would I ask the waitress to take it back and replace my meal, or should I have faith that it is indeed chicken and mashed potatoes,

why or why not?

No, Jim, you should use that critically thinking brain to determine that it is in fact NOT what you ordered.

Oh my gosh... are you trying to say that being without belief in god is like getting the wrong food and recognizing WITHOUT faith that it's wrong?

Hey... I get it!

The faith you are talking about is faith in the waitress who took your order and the cook who made the food. Feel free to question or believe as you see fit. If it looks like pizza, smells like pizza and tastes like pizza, it's probably pizza. But it may be fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Technology today is quite amazing

Jim I miss the connection between the disc and faith. I would think if you went to eat something and it did not look like what you ordered then you should send it back. My theory on food is, if I gotta ask questions, forget it I pass. You do not order a religion and have it look like something it isn't. Faith in the arena you chose would be being blindfolded and tasing whatever was brought out to you. However you should be able to tell the difference upon tasting.

You should, by sanity, believe that it is indeed the wrong thing because you have tasted it and found it to be wrong stuff. If however, you have not tasted it, do taste it b4 u make a complain!

Similarly in faith, give God your willing heart despite the situations you are in, and try it out, perhaps God had them in disguise and the moment you trust God, He will cause you to see.

P.S. about your question, in the first place u asked for a friend chicken, something no one could have done, so dont be surprised when u got the wrong thing.

It's exactly the same as how you post in this section for the wrong motive, you get the wrong answers for wat you are seeking.

Because you know it isn't chicken, because your good mama prepared the dish for you, chichen and mashed patatoes, therefore if you ask your father for knowledge he will not give you a snake will he?

I would know that this restaurant (religion, church), does not read and obey the laws set out by Our Father and therefore I would return the dish and go to another restaurant that would feed me what I had ordered. Thank you for the analagie, a bit rough but I get your point.

well there's a HUGE difference between faith and common sense. Faith is a gift from God, you can't make your own. You can't MAKE yourself have faith. That's like making yourself believe that a red dotted marinara disc is chicken and mashed potatoes.

depends on how hungry you are as far as having it taken back. I think your faith would be out of context in this case however you could convince your mind that it was indeed chicken and mashed potatoes based on past memory of having that meal. Close your eyes and convince yourself.

Faith has nothing to do with you getting the wrong food, If it did not look or taste like what you ordered. Well, then you ask for it to be replaced with what you ordered. What a question. You must be a genius, and just really bored. God Bless

Send it back. You don't need faith to recognize fried chicken and mashed potato's.

Believe it or not, there's a difference between having faith and being stupid. One can have faith in a higher power without having
blind faith in other people. Faith goes beyond logic and could be said to be a suspension of disbelief, it could also be said to be
irrational.
