I just recently bough a townhouse and it is supposed to be three bedrooms but the people who owned it before me got the bright idea to make a huge opening in one of the walls so it is open to the living room and they turned it into their dining room. I want to turn it back into a bedroom but I don't know what I need to do to fill the wall back in. The base floor is concrete. Thanks a lot!!

You'll need to remove the moulding around the doorway, secure a footer board to the floor and header to the ceiling of the opening, then nail studs on each side. Toenail studs top and bottom on 16 inch centers (this may not work out perfectly depending on the size of the opening, but that's okay if two are closer than 16") Make sure the boards are centered and the correct width to allow for you to place a sheet of drywall on each side and be even with the existing walls. If your ceilings are taller than 8', you may want to add some blocks between the studs for added support. After hanging the sheetrock, you will need to mud the joints to make it all even and then prime the new drywall and paint the entire wall your chosen colors.

If you don't understand some of what I've said, get a "how-to" book at the library or hardware store, pictures help a lot.

A Japanese type of sliding steel door in 18 gauge to open or close inside or out side to be made and fixed to the wall with locking arrangement at the center with 1 pad lock bracket in the middle and sliding locks at the top and bottom. you can have a grill in the middle of these doors for light and air which can also be covered with a steel plates.
The place will be covered and can be opened if it is hot inside during day time.
