Steriods can help undeveloped babies and help their lungs and their muscles form fast enough to gain the strength that wasn't formed from malnutrion of the early birth. Inhalers have a certain lung steriod that opens the lungs so you can breath better. Steriods are also used on some people that have hormone problems and this steriod cause them to maintain the proper muslce development that we all take for granted.

If taken correctly anabolic steroids can enhance athletic performance 10 fold. They increase muscle size, strength, and shorten recovery time. But, as with any drugs, they must be taken correctly.

yes, dr's treat many conditions with steroids. But, they are taken properly and under a doctors care and has nothing to do with what athletes use steriods for.
