Have the Christians lost their minds and do they need to be stopped?
What would be the best means of intervention? Is it even possible to enlighten (pun intended...Sorry, that was mean) a Christian?

Scarey isn't it. The best we can do as humanity is seek our truths collectively.

It's not all Christians, for one thing. some people take evangelizing to the extreme. And, I don't think any intervention will work on those type of people.

YA is an open forum. I think the best thing to do, if the person is not actually answering the question, is just "report abuse". Maybe they'll stop?

My answer to the other question, which is sadly closed, is that this is a site to ask and answer questions on religions. Not a site for Christians to discuss Christianity (or for Hinduists to discuss Hinduism) with each other, isolated from the rest.

And my answer to both that person and to you, is that everybody should be entitled to answer whichever question we feel capable of answering, or whichever question we have something to say about.

AND I am not a Christian. I'm an unbeliever. But I don't believe that limiting your questions to a group is going to "enlighten" you. You're enriched if you listen to those you disagree most with (as long as, of course, those other people are honest).

I just wish Christianity as a whole would sit down and realize that some other people just believe differently. They have commercials on the Christian Broadcasting Network where they literally insult the gods worshipped in East Asian religions. It's so arrogant that I can barely stand it. No other religion seems to care that the entire world doesn't believe what they believe. Islam cares to an extent, but not nearly as much as Christianity.

Unfortunately I think it takes more self-realization than outside intervention to change a Christian's mind. That's how it was for me, I had to realize that the dozens of inconsistencies in the religion have no resolution. I wouldn't have believed any other source, that's how in-depth the religious self delusion goes.

Are you suggesting some sort of re-education process? On the surface that would seem to solve all the problems, yet it raises to0 many moral questions... Better we just let society keep them from acting up too much, and try to cut down on the amount of christian theocracies (Except the vatican, they can be a theocracy, but Liberia? The USA?!? Come on people, I thought we were past that).

The problem I think is this: it is impossible to know what the truth is.
If an atheist says there is no God, he alleges something that he cannot prove.
If an agnostic says he doesn't know if there is a God, Well that might be something, but still you only know what you want to know. Your brain translates in your specific way what you perceive.
Have Christians lost their minds? No, it is their right to believe what they want to believe. Belief, after all is an act of the will.
But they can't prove either that there is a God.
Do they need to be stopped. yes, when they want to forcefully make people accept their views.

The only way to find out who is right is to die. Do you want to sign up? If not, I recommend leave Christians alone. Leave the Jews and the Muslims alone too, it is not our business to try to 'correct' their lives.

As an atheist my motto is live and let live.

Of course, as an educated woman I must acknowledge te fact I may be wrong and will rot in he ll, but to be quite frank, I don't lose alot of sleep over it.

Oh , no - a person answering a question intended for someone else.

Call the media - the world may end.

I think I have seen every religion (or lack of) put its 2 cents in when only 1 group is questioned

As for stopping Christians - We have God on our side, so it is rather uphill battle

There's always room for tolerance, especially for religions (that's one of the main reasons people from Europe originally came to America) As far as atheists being correct, I guess it's your perspective and how you've been brought up to see the world. I mean hey, if we can put up with spandex, acid-wash, and Barney I think we can allow for people to believe what they want.

lol. i think that christians do need to back off of everyone. if they want to believ ethats their thing. but they shouldnt be forcing others to believe. and brainwashing children. they whine when schools teach evolution, but they teach christianity at a much younger age then evolution (im not saying teaching evolution is correct either, but cmon now, an eye for an eye. if its fair for them to teach christianity to kids with undeveloped minds and maturity levels then why not evolution to older kids?) they need to realize that THEIR truth is NOT everyones truth.
