I heard that if a girl/woman has a lower back tattoo that if she is pregnant and goes into labor that they can't give her an epidural... Is this true?? I would really like to know!! Thanks!

Its a myth. I know too many tattooed women that had epidurals. They are not even necassary to have except the American birth method is flawed and by giving birth in a reclined position it actually makes it more painful because it is fighting gravity.

An epidural is a single needle. Instead of removing blood there just giving medication. It should make any marks.

i had 2 epidurals in my lower back..ive got a PB bunny head on my lower back

and tattoos there dont stretch...at least mine didnt!

Its more difficult to give an epidural through scar tissue but its still completely possible to do it. However, the tat will probably stretch as you grow

I have one and I had two c-sections and had to get a spinal tap and it was fine. I had no problems.I don't know why there would be a problem.A tattoo is only in the skin not the spine

not a prob, there is a lil mark where i had my epidural on my tattoo, but you can't tell unless you look for it
