What about for babies? Did they work or help them in any way?

i grew up and learned from vtech. i think i learned a lot from it and it helped me learn how to add and subtract and multiply and how to spell words. one of my friends at the time had leapfrog and i tried using it, but i just didnt understand it. i learned nothing from leapfrog. i would recommend vtech over leapfrog anyday.

My kids had both. I would choose leapfrog though. V-Tech plays out after 7 years old. It's no longer a challenge for the kids. Leapfrog gives more of a challenge and it has really "COOL" as my daughter would say activities!

With Leapfrog you Will get you monies worth. I had to give the 75.00 V-smile to my daughters kindergarten class!

We are a VSmile family all the way. It was a lot cheaper (as far as price) than LeapFrog, and our kids (6.5 and 4.5 years old) have enjoyed it for several years now. Our oldest loves doing math with Mickey on one of the games, and our youngest does shape and color matching with Care Bears.
As for babies, I am not sure, we did not get our kids electronic learning system until they were both over 3 years old.
Either way you go, make sure you get something age appropriate for your child(ren) and something that can grow with them as well!

VTech has a lot of cool systems for young children. I particularly like VBaby for the littlest ones, but there are many other games specifically aimed at 3-5 year old, and 6-9 year olds.

My daughter has sensory issues and has a visual memory. She has both the v-tech and the leap frog. So far she has really enjoyed the visual stimulation from the v-tech. I can tell you there is a huge difference in price. The pocket v-tech cost around $100 while the leapfrog only cost us around $35.

It probably depends on the child. Leapfrog won out in my house, hands down!

I have not had the opportunity to try V-Tech, but I have had wonderful results with Leapfrog. My daughter can now virtually memorize entire stories.
