as far as im concerned they are junk, people dont realize that dahmler/chrysler is making some big mistakes. for one independent suspension does not belong on a jeep,2 aluminum differentials dont belong on jeeps, those crappy little v6's dont belong on jeeps, and four doors sure as hell dont belong on a wrangler. they are totally turning their backs on their background,to unite with the smoa(soccer moms of america) the only thing that is smart is the diesel, but im sure that mercedes will screw that up also. chryslers are not what they use to be and it seems since they merged with mercedes they have got worse.
Thats why when i have to get a new vehicle im turning my back on them and getting a chevy with a diesel

Jeep.com is good

here is some info. The COMPASS is JEEPS first front wheel drive vehicle. It was built to compete against the SCION,CIVIC, COROLLA,etc. It has a 2.4 ltr WORLD ENGINE with 172 hp and 165 ln torque
It also offers the CVT (continual Variable Transmission) It works the same was as a 10 speed bike would with the belt driven trans continually shifting so you dont feel the vehicle going into gears

The Jeep Compass is the same thing as the new Dodge Caliber, with a different body. The upcoming Jeep Patriot is also built on the Caliber chasis.
