As Happy said. It is the canine family. All dogs are the same species regardless of the breed. What you were probably trying to ask was ? What group. That would be the toy group.

Don't know but LOVE the long-haired Chihuahua! Had one named Chico for the longest time and he was so funny, intellegent and loving. The only people he barked at were ones I needed to be aware of and to stay away from. ALWAYS introduced strangers to Chico first, if he liked them, they stayed, if not, then they were out of here!!!

A chihuahua is a dog (canidae), but you know this already, as this is the dog section...
In all things doggy related (such as dog shows) it is classed as a 'toy' dog, along with all the other small yapping ones...

i beleive they are in the Toy Group. such as toy poodles etc. these are dogs bred specifically to be small. usually to sit in someones lap or as sign of affluence.
