Does anyone here know a cool place in south london? The thing is I need a venue which is not that expensive and you can enjoy a good music without struggling to hear conversations?

Thats weird, I typed out a mega choice and the damn thing disappeared....pest!!

Anyway here's a quick list:

FUNKY The Circle (Clapham Rd, between Stockwell and Clapham North tubes) Food? Don't know..
SOPHISTICATED The Palmerston 91 Lordship La, East Dulwich SE22, does good food too although best to book for that.
FRIENDLY a real spanish restaurant ( well I think) on Clapham Manor St, just off Clapham High St
MY LOCAL Dark Horse 16, Grove Lane, London, SE5 8SY Camberwell, not bad nosh, cocktails alright

Anyway hope that helps, good luck and happy birthday!

How about booking a last minute holiday for the whole weekend - 2 nights in Prague, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Malaga, or Paris with a mate or two would be an ideal way to spend your birthday and would be a memory you could keep forever. It would only cost around £150 per person with the right deal including accommodation and flights so it would hardly be expensive in the scheme of things!
Go on! You know a part of you would love to have a birthday in an exotic place!
Have a fantastic birthday where ever you go to!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

in south london, there are loads. clapham is quite a good bet, there is the sand bar which is gorgeous and perfect for a party, few minutes walk from clapham common tube. there's also a few others on the high street and down venn st but they are quite small. there is also the bedford pub in balham which is massive and has few floors with lots of different types of music and they have live music as well. good food too! also exhibit by the sainsbury's in balham and also balham bar and kitchen( bit more up market and better if you are eating too).

in tooting there is a place called smoke which is right nest to tooting bec station, cool placce with good music and drinks... not huge so be better to phone before.

hope that helps and happy birthday!

The Clarence pub in Balham (Northern Line) is a really great pub, prices are average and its gorgeously decorated with pop tunes complimenting the friendly feeling background chatter.
They also have bricks on the bar filled with matches -interesting place.

Get someone to cook for you at home. Save you tons ca$h. and you dont have to hear restaurant waiters waitress sing the happy birthday song to you. By the way, that is really annoying and totally embarassing. And you might get some 'action' from your significant other afterward :-)
