loose speedo cable or speedo sensor on the way out :D#
best way to check the cable is to see if it is tight or nto, it is located at the top of the gearbox and is a thick black armoured cable that runs from the gearbox into the bulkhead, if it is tight that end it could be loose the dials end, which in that case just bring it to ford and let us do it!!lol its a complicated and akward job.

My speedometer cut out on the Focus i used to have, it then, more often than not, used to cut the engine out too as i was driving along! The speed sensor in the gearbox needed replacing. It took a main Ford dealer six attempts to find the problem! The sensor was changed under FordProtect warranty..... Good luck.

there is not any problems at Sky's end, properly there wasn't as quickly as I left artwork besides. There could have been a bulletin to let us know of any subject concerns, yet there wasn't something like that for Broadband. Are you nevertheless having a similar problems? i'm not interior the broadband branch so i don't understand each and every of the tricks, so all i will advise is to furnish them a decision and see what they are able to do for you over the telephone. it is quieter at evening although so which you shouldn't be saved on carry for some year in the previous somebody solutions.....! :D Edit: lol! Steph ~ telephone them and kick up a stink, that often looks to get human beings shifting. there is something they are able to do over the telephone to get it lower back on for you.

probably the speed sensor fitted in the place of the old type speedo cable as all newer cars are now fitted with drive by wire either that or the printed circuit board on the back of the clocks you could try your local dealer to see if they have heard of the fault before and what the likely solution is thanks mister_mechanic

Hi, check to see if the mileometer works when speedo stops, if both stop working most common fault is the sensor on the top of the gearbox.

Dunno what you mean by 51 reg Focus.... But in the states, some years had problems with the gauges where all of the needles would go to zero while going down the highway and that leads to cluster replacement
