Zinc is not a vitamin. It is usually classified as a mineral.

Any water soluble form is fine. Often the chloride or sulfate is used. Zinc gluconate is often used in lozenges for colds.

I take Zinc. I usually take the cheapeast tablet of Zinc they sell at Walmart or Target. I think it's Zinc Gluconate.

If you're taking Zinc to avoid a cold this season, I use Zircam rapidmelts whenever I feel a cold coming on. They melt in your mouth and are made for Zincum Aceticum and Zincum Gluconicum.

Finally, if you find Zinc in liquid (conjugated) or melt in your mouth (under your tongue) tablet, in general those are the best kind of vitamins cause your body absorbs them better than the regular swallow pill w/ water formulas. I think I've seen the melt under your tongue zinc formula at Trader Joe's but it may have been a mix of zinc and b-vitamins though.

Zinc (note spelling) is a mineral, not a vitamin and is considered a nutritional drug. Zinc sulfate is the form you want. Take a comprehensive multivitamin-mineral formula, such as Centrum, and you'll be fine.

Zinc is a mineral, not a vitamin.
There are no recommended minimum daily allowances for zinc consumption (No RDA).
Any decently manufactured zinc/multivitamin & mineral supplement is fine. You only require minute quantities anyway, for health.
