Surely it depends on how much they earn and what else you do for them. If you reckon that the average person their age pays about half their salary in rent and bills, and then more again on food that should give you an idea. If you do other things for them like laundry, cleaning, babysitting etc you should charge for those services too.

I suppose it depends on how much they consume?
If they dont buy food, use the phone, on the internet all the time and dont do anything around the house. I suggest you charge 80 a week. Its realistic. I would hope they do clean though.
Your their mother, not their slave.
They need to pay their own way, free loading off your parents should not be an option.
They need to pay. All in all they need to learn to be independant and pay their way.
I would also make your phone bill itemised- This way each person is responsible for their own phone calls.
Money lending should not be an option either, its giving the wrong signs out.
I think you must be a great mom cause, i left home at 16 and have only gone back a few times. When i had no-where else.
My mother has always charged me rent always!
In turn this has made me very independant.
You cannot get a room today with bills included for less than 70, and your providing the food. So i think they should count their blessing.
Hope this helps

Wow! Your youngest daughter has it made. She doesn't work and has a child herself! She's going to keep sponging off of you until you cut the ties! Both daughters should have jobs. They should also pay rent, pay percentage of all monthly bills. They each should pay a equal share of food, toiletries, etc..... . How are these grown up daughters going to be responsible, productive, and self- supporting if they live at home as adults already? Time to cut the ties and send them out into the real world!

When i lived at home I was paying my Mum £50 a week, but that included everything apart from food. The only time I had to pay extra was if I ran up a huge phone bill.

They should not be living with you. But if they are going to pay rent, it should be at least 1/3 each. And also 1/3 for food, and 1/3 utilities.

I would say half what they are bringing in a week each.
The one who works may argue that they are paying more so dont expect them to do any chores but make the one who doesnt work help you with the hosehold chores to make up the difference.

personally i would charge them a divided amount, divide ur living expenses an get them to share the amount.IE rent, food ,utilities, maintenance. the eldest about 60 pounds and youngest 75 and deduct if shes at home keeping house, say 50 if she does all housework xxxx
