my husband and i went to the court house to get married, it was just me and him and the judge that did the ceremony. i remember the judge just being so cool and commenting on how good it made his day to put a marriage together rather than see one in divorce. it was just a really cool day and although my husband has promised to give me the wedding i've dreamed about ( some day ! ) ... that quiet moment when the judge pronounced us husband and wife was intimate and priceless.

My dress.

My friend Polly made my dress from scratch, including letting me help her design it. She made the pattern, we bought the fabric and embellishments together, and it was just perfectly lovely!

Of course, since it is a size zero and I am now a size 12, I will never even get my little toe into it again, but it was just dreamy, and it cost a total of $120 to make the dress and the veil. She paid the money, too, as part of her wedding gift.

I would have to say the favorite thing that I remember most about my wedding is the surprise horse drawn carriage that my husband surprised me with. There was a long drive way to get to the reception hall and at the very beginning he had a beautiful white carriage with a large white horse waiting to take us to the hall. A complete surprise and I am sure no easy feat on his part since we live in a very populated city.

besides the obvious...my husband, I would have to say its a close tie between:...
#1-My entire family came, which included my grandparents that are in there late 80's and flew from VA to TX. I will cherish that forever.
Also-
#2-Watching my mother shake it like no other with my now Grandfather-in-law. It was GREAT! They were dancing up a storm and it really helped the 2 families come together and feel more comfortable with one another.

Knowing that this would be forever with the man of my dreams was the best!

My husband gave me 100 roses before the wedding ... See the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" ... we love that movie and our wedding song also came from the movie!

My husband telling me that I looked "breathtaking" when I reached the altar.

My wedding took place in St. Lucia in the West Indies. The beautiful island atmosphere was perfect.

That it was the most memorable wedding the guests ever attended. One they WOULD talk about when talking about weddings.
"OMG, speaking of weddings, I attended the most amazing wedding last year..."

This would have to be a future wedding. My first wedding was nice, but I would have done some things differently.

Walking down the aisle and seeing all of my friends and family and knowing at the end of the aisle was the love of my life. It was a dream come true!

I'd have to say the dress, and the reception. For some reason everyone was SO excited for the two of us to get married, and they REALLY wanted to celebrate. We put a lot of planning into the party, made sure we had really good food and plenty of free booze. It was a blast!
