Nothing, just like Saddam responded to the UN.
The UN is worthless and needs to be dismantled.
What a waste of resources

Actually nothing - The US public being gullible will fondly believe they are doing much. Well some poor children and old people will die. Lots of people will make money circumventing sanctions such as Pakistan etc.
Few years down the line the sympathy wave will start - led by the human rights knights and sanctions will be lifted.
Things wouldn't have reached such a pass if the US govt did not always follow an hidden agenda - or are those trillion dollars spent on intelligence gathering, a waste? They don't even turn up the most open secrects such as who is giving Nuc/missiles material to who - The terrorist live in Pakistan - the US knows it exactly but its not to be told to the public, who in any case are gullible -they might as well shutdown those expensive satellites - or are they toys? - yet the US govt is in denial.
There no Red Indians left - who can be bribed, shot and cheated. The ostrich better get its head out of sand - its a complex world out there.

Korea is already sanctioned to the max any more and you will be starving the country which would likely set off a war because what would they have to lose? Iran can and will sanction us right back they will shut off there supply of oil. countries that buy the Iranian oil will start buying oil on the open market and drive up our gas prices again in a big way. If they were attacked they could send terrorist to the US and various countries. They could also destroy all oil refineries in the gulf with a combination of ballistic and cruise missiles. I guess what it all boils down to is that the nuclear non-proliferation treaty is in reality dead.

Nothing will happen.
In the case of North Korea, they are already sanctioned and isolated. Putting more UN sanctions against them will not make more of a difference. Plus, China will keep sending aid in the form of food to North Korea because they do not want they North West border flooded with starving Korean refugees.
In the case of Iran, placing UN sanctions will just drive up the world-wide cost of oil. If countries are barred from trading with Iran, the world-wide supply of oil will be reduced and the prices of gas at your neighbourhood gas station will sky-rocket.
And to all these Americans calling for the dissolution of the United Nations, that is democracy for you. Each country has the right to be heard in the UN. Doesn't it suck when democracy does not work in your favor.
The Bush administration claims to want to bring democracy to the world, yet they oppose democratically elected governments with policies that are not in the interests of the Bush administration. Ironic, huh?

If the UN puts sanctions against Iran, Iran with cut off the oil supply. It will have a ripple effect for gas prices, now on the decline, being that Iran Accounts for 10% of the world's oil. It will do nothing but isolate N Korea more until they do something else to get attention. Sanctions to them would just tick them off more, but will be necessary because N Korea will try to sell nuclear weapons next. If either one of these countries decided to commit suicide by striking the U.S., it will without a doubt be WW3 and it would be all over for either one of these gimpy little countries.

No country that wishes to survive, including Russia and/or China, would dare launch a missile at the US. The US accuracy and fire power is second to none, and it would be suicidal for any country to consider this action.
N.Korea will continue to stir the pot. N.Korea is like the mean dog behind a tall fence. It will snarl, bark, show it's teeth, even charge the fence, then walk away. Iran is all smoke and mirrors!
In the event either of these foolish little people Ahmadinejad, or Kim Jong Il, decided to take this action you ask about, they will see their country destroyed, certainly their military establishment will be reduced to ash.

Nothing will happen. Historically, sanctions have had a very sorry record in influencing the government(s) supposedly under siege. Sanctions, per se, are not a hot button for aggressive military action. No missiles will be fired.

Innocent people will suffer and die. The North Korean and Iran governments will gain popularity through being seen as victims of a hatefull west. That will be 2 more countries hostile peoples the Americans will have to fear. Sanctions are pontless and cruel.

Nothing! While the concept of the UN is good- I don't think it wil be anythng but a waste in my lifetime----I wish something would happen! I do think those countries will go after a weaker neighboring country first and people will die and then MAYBE someone will wake up.....how sad and stupid is that? But look at the people running it?
