If you are not able to use a straight pin and tweezers to pull it out, there is this cream called Ichthammol (it's like a black tar) and it is used as a drawing out suave. You can pick it up at any drug store. Just put some on the area cover with band aid and it will draw out what ever you need it to. This should work, but if it doesn't you should see your doctor.

I stepped on a toothpick last year and half of it was embedded in the bottom of my foot...the pain was unbearable and my husband and I could not get it out with tweezers or needles. I went to an urgent care clinic and they numbed the area and removed the toothpick. They also thoroughly cleaned the wound with an antibiotic ointment. I would suggest if all home remedies do not work that you should head to see a doctor. If it is painful to walk it is best to have it removed-the doctors can be sure to get out all of the glass. Good luck!

The only way to get it out without any hassle side effects or complications or pain is to take the Homeopathic Remedy SILICEA 6X take it every 15 minutes to half an hour and and the shred of glass will come out the way it went in without any pain or discomfort. A total miracle remedy in such cases which the conventional doctors don't know about or don't want to acknowledge it :-) .
Try it you will love the way it works, Bullets slugs pins glass shreds wooden splinters works on all .
Take care and God Bless you !

You should go to your local A&E, preferably not on Friday night or you will be there for hours. This may sound extreme but if you go to your GP they will not touch it. You need to have an x-ray so that they can find all the glass fragments and make sure they all get removed. If you don't get it removed you run the risk of infection.

no you won't die however anytime a foreign object like glass is in your foot it can cause other problems. It can cause a planters wart to grow around it and it leaves a hole around glass that won't close leaving it open to infection Try icthamol salve (black salve) it is a drawing salve and may get it out if you put it on and wrap it with a bandaid or bandage if it doesn't come out in a couple days go to a podiatrist and let him or her take it out Good Luck

You wont die but it is probably easier in the long run to withstand a bit of pain and get it out with a needle and tweezers. Then it can heal properly. It would come to the surface but probably not on your foot as you are putting weight on it! Magnesium sulphate paste also helps to draw things to surface - cover with it at night then by morning hopefully it will be easier to remove. Good luck.

See your GP, he will probably remove it there and then, don't worry to much, I had some glass in my side for 3 year, it refused to come out on its own so when I went to have some plates and pins taken out they did it at same time.

i had a piece of glass stuck in my knee, that went in when i was a toddler - unfortunately it was clean and went inwards. Not to alarm you, but later years anti-bodies had grown around it and i had alsorts of trouble for about 12years, i had to have my kneecap removed and alsorts. So i would try to draw out the sliver of glass - go to your doc or pharmisist and they will tell you how to do it best.
Good luck hon :)

Go to A+E where a doctor can remove it or give some local anaesthetic before he removes it. It's a more controlled environment than trying yourself. Less pain and probably less likely to become infected and need more serious intervention.

try soaking your foot in warm water and ebsom salts. That will sometimes help to work it out. If it is near the surface dry your foot really well after and get some super sticky tape and stick it to your foot and pull. It has worked for me.
