I'm looking for suggestions on how to find a good child psychologist or psychiatrist. Questions that people have found helpful in asking prospective therapist and things to keep in mind when looking for a therapist.

Thanks

I don't know if you are looking for a psychologist for questions regarding autism, but if my child had it I would speak to other parent's,teachers,or PT.,OT,ETC. Psychologist or psychiatrist can tell you what they know or have studied in a book, but parents live with this condition everyday. No two children will be alike when diagnosed with this type disability. I am the mother of a child with severe brain damage, seizures, etc. He is 12 now and became disabled at 3 months. Don't believe what you have been told, because you know your child best. If I had listened to the professionals then my son would be in a vegetative state, instead he laughs, hugs, kisses, crawls around etc.
